Torrent site The Pirate Bay thwarts authorities by moving operations to remote volcanic island
The Pirate Bay, one of the most popular sites for file sharing, once again thwarted authorities trying to shut it down.
After briefly disappearing because its Caribbean domain name, thepiratebay.sx, was seized by authorities, the site popped back into action on thepiratebay.ac, according to The Verge and originally reported by Torrent Freak.
The “.ac” is the country code, top-level domain of an isolated volcanic island almost 1,000 miles from the coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean, called Ascension Island. (Photo: Wikemedia Commons)

There’s been a lot of talk and debate about the possibility of life coming to Earth from Mars, but is it possible that we sent it back? According to new research, there have been over 27 million rocks ejected from our planet that could have been large enough to shield microorganisms from the sun’s radiation and may have sent life as far out as Saturn’s moons.
If life is ever discovered elsewhere in the solar system, biologists will have to determine if it originated from Earth or if it is unique to that location.
